This Saltair Resort was a magical destination spot on the Great Salt Lake during the Prohibition era of the 1920's and early 1930's. It was called the ' Coney Island of the West '. Saltair newspaper advertisements boasted about Saltair having one of the first roller coasters, the world’s largest dance floor, airplane shows, fireworks over the lake, speed boat races, red headed beauty contests, and of course swimming. There's nothing left of this Saltair, it burned down mysteriously in 1970.
